    Epilepsi merupakan salah satu penyakit otak yang sering ditemukan di dunia. Data World Health Organization (WHO) menunjukkan epilepsi menyerang 70 juta dari penduduk dunia. Penyakit kronis adalah gangguan atau penyakit yang berlangsung lama (berbilang bulan atau tahun), seperti hipertensi, diabetes melitus, kusta, epilepsi, TBC, AIDS, leukimia, dan sebagainya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat kepatuhan minum obat dengan jenis kelamin dan tingkat pendidikan terhadap angka kejadian penyakit epilepsi dengan penggunaan obat antihepilepsi pada pasien epilepsi di Instalasi Rawat Jalan Rumah Sakit Citra Sari Husada Intan Barokah Karawang periode Agustus-November 2020. Penelitian ini bersifat observasional dengan menggunakan rancangan analisis deskriptif cross-sectional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara prospektif dan retrosprektif dengan menggunakan data skunder berupa resep pasien epilepsi dan data primer berupa kuesioner yang diberikan kepada pasien rawat jalan di Rumah Sakit Citra Sari Husada Intan Barokah Karawang periode Agustus-November 2020. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara menyebar kuesioner pada responden yang telah memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Diperoleh data sebanyak 96 pasien epilepsi yang menjadi responden. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pendidikan merupakan faktor resiko ketidakpatuhan dengan nilai p sebesar 0,536 (p>0,05) dan jenis kelamin juga merupakan faktor resiko ketidakpatuhan dengan nilai p sebesar 0,068 (p>0,05). World Health Organization (WHO) data shows that epilepsy affects 70 million of the world's population. Chronic disease is a disorder or disease that lasts for a long time (months or years), such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, leprosy, epilepsy, tuberculosis, AIDS, leukemia, and so on. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of adherence to taking medication with gender and education level on the incidence of epilepsy with the use of antihepileptic drugs in epileptic patients at the outpatient installation of Citra Sari Husada Intan Barokah Hospital, Karawang period August-November 2020. This study is observational. by using a cross-sectional descriptive analysis design. Data collection was carried out prospectively and retrospectively using secondary data in the form of epilepsy patient prescriptions and primary data in the form of questionnaires given to outpatients at Citra Sari Husada Intan Barokah Hospital, Karawang period August-November 2020. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to respondents. who have met the inclusion criteria. Data obtained were 96 epilepsy patients who became respondents. The results of this study indicate that education level is a risk factor for non-compliance with a p value of 0.536 (p> 0.05) and gender is also a risk factor for non-compliance with a p value of 0.068 (p> 0.05).     Synthesis, Evaluation, and Molecular Docking Study of 4-Monoacyl Resorcinol Against Tyrosinase Enzyme

    Tyrosinase is a crucial enzyme in melanin production to protect the skin from ultraviolet, leading to skin cancers. This study synthesized eight compounds of acyl resorcinol with long-chain carbon (1-8) and structurally elucidated by 1H and 13C NMR. The in vitro evaluation of eight synthesized compounds against tyrosinase enzyme showed that 4-heptanoyl resorcinol (6) exhibited high inhibitory activity compared with the kojic acid as standard. In addition, the molecular docking study demonstrated that 6 showed lower binding energy (-7.3 kcal/mol) than kojic acid (-6.9 kcal/mol) and possessed interaction with crucial residues in the active site

    Pengembangan Metode Analisis Hormon Tanaman Kelompok Auksin Menggunakan Kromatografi Cair Kinerja Tinggi

    Auksin merupakan salah satu kelompok hormon tanaman yang dapat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman. Analisis kandungan auksin pada tanaman sangat diperlukan di bidang pertanian untuk mengetahui pola pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan metode analisis auksin menggunakan KCKT-UV. Analisis dilakukan terhadap tiga senyawa auksin, yaitu Asam Indol-3-Asetat (IAA), Asam Indol-3-Butirat (IBA) dan Asam 1-Naftalena Asetat (NAA). Pengembangan metode analisis meliputi tahap optimasi derivatisasi senyawa IAA, IBA dan NAA berdasarkan reaksi  sililasi dan optimasi kondisi analisis hasil derivatisasi iAA, IBA dan NAA menggunakan KCKT-UV. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi optimum derivatisasi IAA, IBA dan NAA adalah menggunakan pereaksi trimetilklorosilen (TMCS) pada suhu 25oC selama 30 menit. Validasi proses derivatisasi menggunakan KCKT-UV memiliki presisi dan linieritas yang memenuhi syarat dengan nilai % SBR ≤ 2 dan nilai rata-rata koefisien korelasi (r) 0,9998 serta konsentrasi terkecil IAA, IBA dan NAA yang masih dapat diderivatisasi adalah 0,05 mg/L.Kata kunci: Asam Indol-3-Asetat (IAA), Asam Indol-3-Butirat (IBA), Asam 1-Naftalena                      Asetat (NAA), Reaksi Sililasi dan KCKT-U

    EFFECT OF SOIL pH ON THE ANTHOCYANIN LEVEL OF HORTENSIA (Hydrangea macrophylla)

    Anthocyanin is a natural pigment that can express red, blue, and purple color. It can be accumulated in leaves, thorn, tuber, fruit, flower, and seed. Hortensia (Hydrangea macrophylla) known as ‘Panca Warna’, is a plant that can express different sepal colour due to environmental factor such as soil pH. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of three different soil pH on the level of anthocyanin pigment in the sepal of Hortensia. This research was a descriptive quantitative which used randomized block design with nine replications. Seven kind of anthocyanin was measured using differential pH spectroscopy method and analyzed using One-Way ANOVA.     An Investigation of a Conventional Water Treatment Plant in Reducing Dissolved Organic Matter and Trihalomethane Formation Potential from a Tropical River Water Source

    The characteristics and composition of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and trihalomethane (THM) generation during water treatment are important for producing safe drinking water. However, little information is available on this topic within the context of Indonesia. This study aimed to investigate the efficiency of a conventional drinking water treatment plant (WTP) in removing DOM and chloroform forming potential (CHCl3FP), and evaluate surrogate parameters for CHCl3FP. Samples were taken during the rainy season and the dry season from raw water, after secondary treatment and after the rapid sand filter. DOM was characterized based on the A254, A355, SUVA, dissolved organic carbon (DOC), and fluorescence DOM (FDOM) parameters. The composition of the DOM was identified using the peak picking method. Overall, from raw to finished water, the WTP performed better in the rainy season with 55.96% reduction of DOC and 63.45% reduction of A355 as compared to the dry season with 53.27% reduction of DOC and 24.18% reduction of A355.The overall removal of humic and tryptophan compounds during the rainy season was 33.33% and 37.50%, respectively. In the dry season, humic compounds were reduced by 18.80%, while tryptophan increased threefold. A355 can serve as a surrogate parameter for CHCl3FP in raw water and water after secondary treatment, containing more humic-like compounds than tryptophan-like compounds

    Desa Mekarmaya Berdiri sejak Tahun 1982 desa berada di Kecamatan CilamayaWetan Kabupaten Karawang, dengan luas wilayah 4.200 km dan jumlah penduduk mencapai7.718 jiwa, mata pencarian utama desa Mekarmaya adalah petani luas daerah pertanianmencapai lebih dari setengah dari luas desa. Pandemi covid-19 secara tiba-tibamengharuskan elemen pendidikan untuk mempertahankan pembelajaran secara online.Kondisi saat ini mendesak untuk melakukan inovasi dan adaptasi terkait pemanfaatanteknologi yang tersedia untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran. Praktiknya mengharuskanpendidik maupun peserta didik untuk berinteraksi dan melakukan transfer pengetahuansecara online. Pembelajaran online dapat memanfaatkan platform berupa aplikasi, website,jejaring social maupun learning management sistem. Berbagai platform tersebut dapatdimanfaatkan untuk mendukung transfer pengetahuan yang didukung berbagai teknikdiskusi dan lainnya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mewawancarai salah satu kepala sekolahyanga ada di desa Mekarmaya, Kecamatan Cilamaya Wetan, Kabupaten Karawang, ProvinsiJawa Barat. Lokasi penelitian berada di SDN Mekarmaya I pada bulan September 2020.Permasalahan pembelajaran yang terjadi di SDN Mekarmaya I selama pandemi berupakurang efektifnya pembelajaran di masa pandemi, orang tua siswa yang berekonomi rendahmengeluh karena pembalajaran daring memerlukan kuota internet (biaya tambahan) danbanyaknya tugas tambahan yang di berikan oleh guru saat pembelajaran daring kepadasiswa.Kata kunci: Desa Mekarmaya, Covid-19, Pembelajaran Mekarmaya bvillage founded in 1982, the village is located in Cilamaya Wetan District, KarawangRegency, with an area of 4,200 km and a population of 7,718 people.     Determiner of Poor Sleep Quality in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients Links to Elevated Diastolic Blood Pressure, hs-CRP, and Blood-count-based Inflammatory Predictors

    BACKGROUND: Sleep deprivation is strongly associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) via sympathetic overstimulation and systemic inflammation in general population. However, the significance of poor sleep quality in chronic kidney disease (CKD) is still underexplored.METHODS: This study assessed the sleep quality of 39 with non-dialysis CKD (ND CKD) patients and 25 hemodialysis CKD (HD CKD) patients using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. Poor sleeper was defined as individual with PSQI > 5.RESULTS: The prevalence of poor sleeper (30% vs. 60%, p=0.029) and the cummulative PSQI (ND CKD 4.5±4.4, HD CKD 8±6, p=0.038) are different between ND CKD and HD CKD groups. Among the ND CKD, there are association between short sleep duration (< 5 hours per day) with elevated diastolic blood pressure groups (r=0.421, p<0.05); habitual sleep efficiency with platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (r= 0.532, p<0.0001); daytime dysfunction with increased hs-CRP (r=0.345, p=0.032) and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (r=0.320, p=0.046). In HD CKD group, a requirement to use sleep medication was associated with elevated highsensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) level (r=0.434, p=0.030) and decreased monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (r=- 0.410, p=0.042); daytime dysfunction was associated with serum hs-CRP (r=0.452, p=0.023).CONCLUSION: This study revealed that some features of poor sleep quality in CKD patients including low sleep efficiency, daytime dysfunction and requirement to use sleep medication were associated with increased diastolic blood pressure, hs-CRP and blood-count-based inflammatory predictors. Thus, this finding prompt to pay closer attention to sleep complaints in the management of CVD risk factors in CKD patients.KEYWORDS: sleep quality, chronic kidney disease, blood pressure, inflammatio
